Longwood Center for the Visual Arts

Located at the corner of Third and Main Streets, the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA) was established in 1978 by the Longwood Board of Visitors because of their understanding of the relationship of the arts to a balanced education. The LCVA offers a wide variety of educational programs for all ages and showcases various exhibitions throughout the year. It is a collaborative forum for students and faculty of Longwood University and the people of South Central Virginia to explore visual art and its relevance to everyday life. Besides the galleries, the Center offers workshops, children’s programs, and special events throughout the year. The Center is distinguished as the only collecting institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia with work by Virginia artists and artisans as its primary focus.Longwood Center for the Visual Arts building
