Proclaimed as “the best small town festival in the world”, the Heart of Virginia Festival is held the first Saturday in May each year in Farmville. Founded in 1979, the festival celebrates the arts, music, and culture of Southside Virginia. It is a daylong event that takes place in downtown Farmville and ends at Riverside Park.
